Southend Soup is secular, but recognises that places of worship are often great community hubs. This is certainly true for Crowstone Church. The Church is at the heart of myriad activities; breakfasts, coffee mornings and film nights to build friendships and combat loneliness, loads for children and families, and, together withHavens Hospice, they’re hosting sessions to talk about death and dying. They’re also at the forefront of the#southendwelcomingrefugees campaign.
In other words, they’re the perfect venue for Soup.
You’ll know by now we always have a theme. January’s soup is a chance for you to have a clear out, as we’ll beSwishing!
Swishing’s simple: bring clean, good condition, clothes, accessories or toys to swap. You’ll get tokens for the items you bring, enabling you to ‘buy’ new things from fellow swishers.
And as usual, bring musical instruments or other diverse entertainments, a bowl, a spoon, and good cheer!
